Aromantics Create Pride originally began as a celebration for AUREA’s first birthday. We wanted to bring together our audience of creative minds and showcase their work. It went so wonderfully that we’ve kept bringing it back and with the way this one went you can look forward to seeing this event every year.
This year was particularly special because we partnered with Michael at Dancing Queerly to shape intentional space to provide feedback for each other. We held a facilitated live session and artists shared feedback with each other through this and non-simultaneous ways. A HUGE thank you to Michael and Dancing Queerly for making Aros Create Pride even better!
A total of ten people participated in this event and interacted with each other’s works. The works submitted were deep with thought and bursting from an overflow of originality. Now that the event has come to an end, we are sharing some of the works!
The list is organised by random generator and has been marked with the relevant content warnings. Take a look and in spirit of the event, why not leave a comment?

Lore of the Unluck
Lore of the Unluck is a poem written to depict how gut-wrenching a friendship breakup can be. Many arospec people have a strong platonic attraction towards their loved ones, while a lot of allos might also experience that, though unconsciously, but project their feelings as to what a romance is. I hope this poem can walk you—whoever you are—through aromanticism by a window you may find tangible.
