Hi everyone! As part of the Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week (ASAW) celebrations, we - in our excitement - went all out and signed up to host the February Carnival of Aros! The theme of this month’s Carnival is:
Variation vs. Unity
What is a blogging carnival?
It's an event where people are encouraged to create and share content related to prompts on a given topic. As the hosts we'll be promoting everyone's content here on this website, and at the end of the month we'll post a round-up collection of everything that has been submitted.
Where can I post?
Anywhere you like! One option is that you can post it on your personal blog or website and send the link to us at contact@aromanticism.org. The other is for participants who don’t have a platform to host on, or who wish to stay anonymous - you can send your submission straight to us at contact@aromanticism.org and we’ll post it on our website. Whichever method you choose, please let us know how we should refer to you (name, nickname, anonymous; pronouns you use).
What can I post?
Anything that is related to this month’s theme! We welcome all kinds of content, whether it is written, drawn, sung, recorded, or whatever else you can imagine!
For a little inspiration we’ve listed some prompts that are related to the theme.
Defining (or not defining) one’s own identity
How personal definitions may vary and differ from the dictionary/glossary definitions
Using microlabels vs. using umbrella terms
What is your definition of aromanticism?
How identities and experiences shape each other
What words, models, or concepts used in the aro community do you describe yourself with?
What words, models, or concepts do you identify with or are described by but don’t use as labels or descriptors?
Your personal aromanticism and the aromanticism of others - where are we diverse, where are we similar
Your aromanticism and the alloromanticism of others - where are we diverse, where are we similar
In this special month, we encourage you to consider how ASAW made you feel in regards to Variation vs. Unity.
How can I contact the hosts?
If you have any additional questions or would like to contact the hosts, please write to us at contact@aromanticism.org. Thank you.
